Payson Crash Kills Two Motorcycle Riders

Arizona Department of Public Safety investigated a crash that killed two motorcyclists and injured two others. The accident occurred on SR-87 at the SR-188 junction near Payson, Arizona.

According to officers, the motorcycle driver slowed near the junction, but the driver of a pickup truck failed to slow and ran over the motorcycle and its two riders. The impact was so severe that it caused the truck to roll several times.

Based on the preliminary information, this accident highlights the fact that many drivers fail to see motorcycles. Their inattention poses a serious risk to motorcycle riders and other motorists. Due to the relative lack of protection from injury, motorcyclists are among the most vulnerable people on the road.

A motorcycle accident in Yuma has claimed the life of Wayne Helms. According to a spokesperson for the Yuma Police Department, Mr. Helms was driving his motorcycle westbound on 16th Street near Gateway when he was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Rooslin Gomez.
